| New SYSTEM CASCON™ software release enhances In-System Programming and 3rd party ATE integration |
| Jena (Germany),
Santa Clara (California) – GOEPEL electronic, a global leader of
JTAG/Boundary Scan solutions compliant with IEEE Std 1149.x,
demonstrates the upcoming release 4.4.1 of its software platform,
SYSTEM CASCON™, at the International Test Conference (ITC) in Santa
Clara, CA, from October 23 to 25, 2007. In addition to improvements in 3rd party ATE integration, primary focus of this new software release is new and improved tools for automated handling of non-boundary scan components and clusters, including dynamic testing of these circuit structures at board and system level. “The new release 4.4.1 of SYSTEM CASCON is another key milestone in our ongoing efforts to dramatically improve the productivity of test and in-system programming development tools. These automated tools enhance overall fault coverage for printed circuit boards having a high percentage of non-boundary scan circuitry”, says Raj Puri, Vice President Marketing and Sales for GOEPEL electronics LLC. “Combining SYSTEM CASCON and our award-winning hardware platform SCANFLEX® with other technologies, such as VarioCore®, we offer the highest quality product portfolio for JTAG/Boundary Scan solutions on the market." SYSTEM CASCON release 4.4.1 introduces new tools for test and in-system programming of FLASH EEPROM devices, increasing the number of integrated tools increases to 36. Using the Multi-Phase Inspector, these tools build on a common Unit Under Test (UUT) data base, enabling the user to work efficiently throughout the entire project development cycle and beyond. In addition to the integration in other software environments, the CASCON API (CAPI), included in all software packages, enables definition and query of Boundary Scan vectors from external test processes, such as Functional Test equipment. Release 4.4.1 adds new features for conditional interaction between SYSTEM CASCON and third party ATE, allowing for a more flexible integration. With this new release, CASLAN (CAScon LANguage) comprises more than 300 commands for efficient control of in-system programming (ISP) routines and algorithmic test program generation, including mixed-signal test applications. Visitors to the International Test Conference (ITC) are invited to experience the new SYSTEM CASCON release 4.4.1 firsthand at GOEPEL electronics booth (#620). GOEPEL engineers are available to answer questions and discuss specific test applications. The recently introduced ScanAssist™ tools for interactive hardware verification including graphical debugger, native and synthesizing schematic viewer, and layout viewer will also be demonstrated. SYSTEM CASCON™ 4.4.1 will be available Q1 2008 and the software update will be free of charge for customers with valid maintenance agreements.
